Grandview Police are searching for a suspect in bank robbery, who entered the bank and demanded cash. The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. at the PNC Bank at the Broadview Avenue and 1st Avenue.

Police said that, the handed a note to the teller, which said that if they gave him any problems he would detonate an explosive.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a backpack near the front door of the bank and called Columbus Division of Fire bomb squad technicians to examine the backpack.

A bomb disposal robot was used to get close enough to the backpack to make sure it did not contain any wires or explosives.

The crime forced the Grandview police to evacuate homes and put the Grandview schools on lockdown.

Instead of finding anything like explosive, the police found a white towel and what looked like an ice bucket inside the backpack.

Meanwhile, the suspect remains at large. He is described as white male, in his 50's, 6'3 and 180 pounds wearing dark sunglasses.
