Cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin’s Request To PM Modi

As part of voter awareness campaign Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday tagged several athletes, film stars, Cricketers and urged them to create awareness among people and increase the voting percentage in the Upcoming 2019 General elections.

PM Modi tweeted, “My fellow Indians, The time has come to say- #VoteKar. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, ensure that you as well as your family and friends turnout in record numbers. Your doing so will have a positive impact on the nation’s future.”

Among them Indian cricketer and Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin was also there, he responded to the Prime Minister Modi’s tweet.

He said, “Always thought voting is the fulcrum of our democracy and I definitely would like to urge the entire country, each and everyone of you from every nook and corner of our country to vote and choose their rightful leader.”

However, cricketer also requested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that cricketers playing in Indian Premier League (IPL) should be allowed to cast their votes from whichever city they are playing at.

“I would also like to request you @narendramodi sir to enable every cricketer playing in the IPL to be allowed to cast their votes from which ever place they find themselves at,” he tweeted.


However it remains to be seen whether Election Commission allows it or not.
