The coronavirus global pandemic has starting imposing its impacts on India, taking the toll of the confirmed cases in the country to over 3000. With so many cases being confirmed every single day, the country noticed the highest surge in the cases with 600 new confirmed ones on Friday – the highest till date.

Maharashtra is the worst hit state because of the virus, with over 500 confirmed cases, the numbers increasing every single day. 47 new cases were reported today in Maharashtra, 28 of which are in Mumbai, taking the overall toll of the state to 537 at the moment.

Rajasthan has also been reporting a host of confirmed cases, just 17 fresh cases were reported in the early morning, taking the toll of the state to 196. In other reports, a 60-year old woman from Bikaner died because of the Covid-19 complications.

Of all the new cases that were reported today, 8 of them have been associated with the Tablighi Jamaat from Nizamuddin.

As per the confirmed cases yesterday, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu saw the sharpest peaks in the number of confirmed cases, taking the tally to over 3000 at the moment.

12 new deaths have also been registered in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 86 at the moment. Delhi witnessed one of the highest peak in the confirmed cases, 167 in 24 hours, taking the total toll of the confirmed cases in the capital city to 386.

India currently has over 600 cases that have been associated to the Tablighi Jamaat event that took place in Nizamuddin in Delhi. There have been cases that have been found in multiple states owing to this including Andaman and Nicobar, Assam, Delhi, Himachal, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttrakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

Tamil Nadu also experienced a sudden surge in the number of cases, around 102 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s toll to over 200 cases. Even Andhra Pradesh and Telangana reported a sudden surge in the cases, taking their toll to over 200 as well.

Kerala has a total of around 298 cases while Karanataka has 128 confirmed cases.

The north east of India, which seemingly didn’t experience a surge reported 24 fresh cases in Assam itself. Some of the other states there that have confirmed cases include Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh, having one confirmed case each.

West Bengal also reported 15 fresh cases in the last 48 hours, taking the current toll to 63 at the moment. Gujarat currently has 95 confirmed cases, out of which, there have been 10 death reports already, one that happened yesterday.

Uttar Pradesh, which has been hit quite bad too had its CM, Adityanath hold a very high level meeting to review the preparedness of the state and the kind of funds and resources that they currently have to combat this virus.

Aside from that, some of the sources have also suggested that it is likely that the Indian railways will resume their services from April 15, 2020.
