While the Downing Street statement yesterday reported the hospitalisation of the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson for precautionary measures, recent reports suggest that he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit because of the worsening symptoms of the Covid-19.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister has stated saying that Johnson is getting excellent care and is doing quite well. He further stated saying that Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has been advised to deputise wherever necessary during his absence.

BBC political correspondent Chris Mason stated saying that the prime minister has been given oxygen late on Monday afternoon to tide over the complications of the disease. Johnson has not been put on ventilator yet, so that is something that signifies a stable health for now.

An issued statement under Number 10 stated saying, “The prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas' Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus. Over the course of [Monday] afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital."

Raab, who is going to be leading the government during Johnson’s absence, said that there was an incredible strong spirit behind the prime minister.

He further added saying that he and his colleagues were also making sure that they implemented plans that the prime minister has instructed them with before he was admitted to the hospital.

Raab said that implementing these ways is the only way that they will be able to overcome this coromavirus crisis at the moment. Even the Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer stated saying that their prayers are with the prime minister, wishing a speedy recovery during this time of crisis.

Words of support have come in from the American President as well as the Indian Prime Minister as well, supporting Johnson during this time of crisis.

The prime minister was taken into the intensive care unit without much information shared around. The statement issued from Downing Street has clarified that he is receiving the best class treatment from the NHS officials.

Johnson has been moved to the intensive care unit in case he needs assistance with his health and needs ventilation if any further complications arise. The experts believe that it is likely that something has changed around, especially because he asked foreign secretary to deputise him during his absence.
