India is known for their achievements in different fields of sports and the latest is in the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships where the Indian team won by 4-1.

The dynamic duo of shuttlers Meiraba Luwang and Tanisha Crasto led the team to a victory against the United States team with a starking difference in scores by 4-1. The same was in the opening group E encounter.

Tanisha Crasto, who is from Goa, India was the star of the entire tournament where she won not just the girls’ double matches but the mixed doubles as well.

The first round was played along with Ishaan Bhatnagar, who is from Chattisgarh, delivering the very first point of win to India with a score of USA 20-20, 21-9 against the duo of Jacob Zhang and Jessica Wang.

Following the first point, it was Meiraba Luwang who replaced Ishaan in the court next. The junior player who is ranked the 10th in the world ranking completely stamped on the 520th ranked Alexander Zheng with a score of 21-9, 21-11 with a match that lasted for 26 minutes straight.

Luwang has been a rage this year, winning the first place at the Russian Junior White Nights followed by securing the silver in the India Junior International.

The third point was secured by Tasnim Mir, a Gujarati girl who is also the proud winner of the Dubai Junior International Series just earlier this month. She was competing against the world’s 75th ranked Natalie Chi, giving India the 3-0 lead. The score during that round was 21-19, 25-23.

The last round was a downer for the team which was manned by the boys’ doubles combining Manjit Singh Khwairakpam and Iman Sonowal against Willian Yu and Joshua Yan bringing the score down to 23-25, 19-21.

The last tie breaker was played by the duo of Aditi Bhatt along with Crasto against Katelin Ngo and Esther Shi. They duo beat the United States in the tie breaker with a whopping score difference of 21-16, 15-21 and 21-7, gaining India the win that they very well deserved.
