The movie premiered today and is getting excellent feedback. Karan Johar, who is Varun Dhawan's mentor and directed his first movie Student of the Year, went on Instagram to praise the film. He shared a post where he defended Varun against the criticism he has been receiving. Karan Johar stated, "It's important to mention. . . this is exactly why we call it a virtual world! The real world will always show that the fuss on social media is pointless! You can make fun of an artist's smile, but he will still be happy when the movie comes out to full theaters, receiving genuine love from the audience! So those who make noise and look for clicks can do what they wish. . . the truth will always win."

What I do work for will be revealed this Friday," Varun shared. He expressed his confidence in the movie, stating: "I have faith in the film. Making a good movie is very important. Of course, I don’t care about the numbers and all that. But I believe that we have created a great movie. That’s the most significant aspect. "
