A former Kansas governor and Cabinet secretary is expected to speak in Ohio. Kathleen Sebelius will be the featured speaker during a Cincinnati-area Democratic Party gathering.
Ohio born Sebelius is scheduled to reach Ohio on April 13. She served as the governor of Kansas from 2003 to 2009. She also worked as a secretary of US president Barack Obama for health and human services.
According to the Hamilton County Democrats, they are providing discounted tickets of $50 in place of usual $150 tickets for the annual Century Club reception.
Sebelius's late father John J. Gilligan served as Ohio's governor in the early 1970s and as a congressman also. He died in Cincinnati in 2013 at age 92.
