
A new study done at Ohio State University throws light on reasons for the opioid crisis in Ohio State. This study also provides effective ways to help addicts to get rid of addiction and also stop people from getting addicted also.
This study was conducted by four people of Swank Program in Rural-Urban Policy. The Chairman, Mark Partridge said that this crisis is massive; this is the leading cause of deaths in Ohio under age of 55.
This study determined the cost of the crisis between treatment and overdose deaths is seven to nine billion dollars a year. It also found out that overdose rates are higher for people less than the college education and in counties with the higher unemployment rate.
This study also said that only 40% of those suffering from an opioid deficiency are getting help.
