Sand quarrying next to liquor, in discrepancies

The High Court today felt that Sand quarrying has got equal amount of chances to encourage discrepancies. Leaving this note the court today ordered that from April 01, sand quarrying must be stopped across the state. The court also ordered the government to look into the issue before issuing the new licenses. The court expressed anger over the discrepancies occurring in sand quarrying across the state. This was in response to the petition filed on the discrepancies in Dharanikota sand quarrying in the Guntur district.

Illegal sand quarrying is been prevalent on the banks of the Krishna and Godavari river. The quarrying is mostly done at the remotest villages, for easy operations. Nearly 1500 or more Lorries ply from these quarries every day. This creates vivid noise and sound pollution along with damaging the roads. The villagers silently bore the problems, as their appeals mostly fell on deaf ears. This was one of the biggest crime network running in these areas. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
