Dr Vadrevu Raju, an Indian American physician, who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Science in the state of Ohio.

Raju, was born in Andhra Pradesh, India, and he graduated in medicine from the Andhra University in the year 1965.

Raju after completing his internship and residency in India, served as the casualty officer at a hospital in Surrey, southeast of England, in the year 1968.

In Britain, Raju also completed his ophthalmology residency and fellowship at the Royal Eye Group of Hospitals, London.

After that he worked as faculty in the West Virginia University's ophthalmology department for about eight years. Since the year 1984 he has served as a clinical professor and has a thriving private practice.

Raju is also a founder and also medical director of the Eye Foundation of America (EFA).

The foundation headquartered in West Virginia, provides affordable eye care and treatment to the children, especially in the developing countries.

EFA has already served in more than 14 countries and also built eye hospitals in India.

Raju has received several national and also international awards and honors. Raju received the Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samman Award in the House of Lords in year 2014 and also Top Ophthalmologist award in 2014 World International Association of Ophthalmologists.
