Ahead of meeting with Ohio Governor had tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning. But later in the day he had tested negative.

Ohio Governor DeWine said that he has no symptoms and is completely fine. His only health ailment is asthma for which he uses an inhaler daily. He also said that the virus is everywhere and one can contract the virus easily even after being very careful and wearing face masks.

But, he stressed that the probability of catching COID-19 comes down a bit if people wear face masks.

Trump had offered DeWine his best wishes and said that he would be fine. He had arrived at the airport where he was received by Lt. Governor of Ohio, John Husted.

DeWine is currently serving his first term as governor and is one of the most familiar politicians who served as US Congressman, US Senator for twice, Ohio’s attorney general and also Lt. governor.

Husted said that he had been talking to DeWine over teleconference for weeks and did not see any changes in his routine or any other aspects of DeWine’s job.

Trump’s visit to Ohio comes amid the signs that he faces a tough competition with the competitor and Democrat Joe Biden in the coming election.

DeWine was the second US governor to test positive for coronavirus after Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt contracted the virus last month.

The number of positive cases in Ohio has decreased after the first surge and hit a new low in late May. But, the cases again began to rise from the mid-June as Ohio began to reopen the businesses. More than 3600 Ohioans have died due to the coronavirus.

In the recent weeks, DeWine had pleaded the people of Ohio to take responsibility for surge in cases and spread of virus across the state. DeWine had made masks mandatory in April but he received negativity from the people of Ohio for the rule. However, his aggressive move was later praised by the people as the cases fell.

Mask wearing has also been a matter of contention as many Democratic law makers have donned the masks while Republican members did not. DeWine found himself at odds with his own party members.

DeWine had held one brief meeting in a separate room at the State House and no other meetings have been announced by him till now. After a week, he is now having a meeting with Donald Trump.

In the last briefing DeWine had shared how several friends of his had succumbed to the deadly virus. He urged people to take care of their loved ones especially grandparents. The governor has 23 grand children.
