Ohio Man Pleaded Guilty to attack U.S. Capitol

A 22 years old Ohio man pleaded guilty on Monday to planning an attack in the U.S. Capitol during last year's State of Union.

Federal authorities informed in a statement, that in a plea agreement, Christopher Cornell acknowledged the plot they aimed at, to kill government employees and It would have be an attempt to provide "material support and resources" to ISIS.

The statement added that Cornell, of Green Township, near Cincinnati, searched for weapons, bomb building methods and other possible targets online in Washington D.C.

Cornell was arrested in January,14, 2015 after purchasing two M-15 semi-automatic rifles and roughly 600 rounds of ammunition when an undercover informant watched.

John Cornell said that his son as a quiet and shy teen who has been considered becoming a nurse. But he was aimless, vulnerable and therefore ripe for coercion .

According to the statement, Cornell has been sentenced to a maximum of 40 years in prison.
