OnePlus 15R made its debut in India on Wednesday as the latest smartphone aimed at performance. It will be sold across various retail outlets in three different colors. The latest device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor from Qualcomm built on a 3nm technology, along with 12GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It includes a 7,400mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging through a wired connection. This phone has a dual-camera setup on the back, featuring a main camera of 50 megapixels. It also includes a 32-megapixel camera for selfies. The starting price of the OnePlus 15R in India is Rs. 47,999 for the entry-level model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The highest variant, which has 512GB of storage, costs Rs. 52,999. Pre-orders can be made today, and it will be available for sale starting next week. Discounts are available for customers using Axis Bank and HDFC Bank cards, reducing the effective price to Rs. 44,999 and Rs. 47,999, respectively.
This new device will be available for sale in India on December 22 at 12pm IST through Amazon, the OnePlus India online shop, and various offline stores. The OnePlus 15R comes in Charcoal Black, Mint Breeze, and Electric Violet colors. This newly introduced OnePlus 15R is a dual SIM phone that operates on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. The brand assures users of four updates for the operating system and six years of security enhancements for this device. It features a 6.83-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,272x2,800 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, a pixel density of 450 ppi, a 19.8:9 aspect ratio, and 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The display also includes features like Sun Display for better visibility outside, Reduce White Point, Motion Cues, and Eye Comfort Reminders. The OnePlus 15R is driven by Qualcomm's octa-core 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, which has a maximum clock speed of 3.8GHz. This chip works with 12GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage, and an Adreno 8 series GPU. It also incorporates the new G2 Wi-Fi chip and Touch Response Chip. Additionally, the device is rated IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K for protection against dust and water.

While the previous OnePlus 13R did not include cameras tuned by Hasselblad, the OnePlus 15R comes equipped with the same DetailMax Engine found in the top-tier OnePlus 15 model. It is equipped with a primary camera that has 50 megapixels (f/1.8) using the Sony IMX906 sensor, which includes optical image stabilization (OIS). Additionally, it has an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) ultrawide lens that captures a wide 112-degree view. Users can record videos in up to 4K resolution at a speed of 120 frames per second. The rear cameras also allow for cinematic video recording, multi-view videos, and video zooming. For selfies, it has a front-facing camera of 32 megapixels (f/2.0) capable of recording 4K videos at 30 frames per second. As for connectivity, the OnePlus 15R offers support for 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, a USB Type-C connection, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC. The device includes a variety of sensors such as a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, electronic compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, and an infrared remote control.
The OnePlus 15R is powered by a 7,400mAh silicon carbon battery. The manufacturer asserts that after four years of usage, the battery will retain 80 percent of its initial capacity. This new phone also supports fast charging with an 80W wired option. Its dimensions are 163.4mm in height, 77mm in width, and 8.3mm in thickness, weighing approximately 219 grams.
