President Donald Trump on Thursday said he had some ‘reasonably attractive’ and ‘reasonably decent’ news from the two Asian countries Indian and Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference in Hanoi, Vietnam, Trump said he hoped the conflict between India and Pakistan will be coming to an end.

The statement by Trump comes amid brewing tensions between India and Pakistan.

"I think reasonably attractive news from Pakistan and India. They have been going at it and we have been involved and have them stop. We have some reasonably decent news. Hopefully, it's going to be coming to an end. It's been going on for a long time, decades and decades," Trump told reporters on India-Pakistan tensions.

Earlier today, the United States asked Pakistan to abide by its United Nations Security Council commitments to deny terrorists safe haven and block their access to funds.

“Cross-border terrorism, such as the recent attack on India's CRPF on February 14, poses a grave threat to the security of the region. We reiterate our call for Pakistan to abide by its United Nations Security Council commitments to deny terrorists safe haven and block their access to funds,” a State Department spokesperson said. "The United States calls on India and Pakistan to cease all cross-border military activity and for a return to stability,” the spokesperson added.

Tensions have reached an extreme between the two countries after Pakistan Air Force's jets made an attempt to target military installations on the Indian side on Wednesday, a day after the Indian Air Force carried out strikes on a Jaish-e-Mohammed camp in Pakistan's Balakot.

Jaish-e-Mohammed is a Pakistan-based terror outfit that was responsible for the deadly Pulwama terror attack.

India conducted a major preemptive strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp early Tuesday, putting to death a very large number of terrorists, trainers and major commanders.

India’s action comes close on the heels of the Pulwama incident in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed in one of the deadliest terror strikes in decades in Jammu and Kashmir.
