Samsung seems to have finally initiated the distribution of the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series in the United States. The software, based on Android 16, was initially launched in South Korea last week and was anticipated to be available for qualifying Galaxy phones in the US this week. The stable One UI 8.5 update introduces fresh features to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra devices that were mostly found in the newer Galaxy S26 models. An X user named CID (@theonecid) noted that One UI 8.5 is now accessible for Galaxy S25 devices in the US. The update has version numbers S938USQU9CZDP and S938UOYN9CZDP. It is approximately 4.4GB in size and includes the security patch for April. Users have also mentioned that they can download the update on their phones in India. Several posts from users on X suggest that the stable One UI 8.5 will become available for Samsung Galaxy S25 models in Canada, China, India, and the United Kingdom over the next few weeks, starting from Monday. It is also said to be coming to devices in Poland, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, France, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Netherlands.

Another user on X remarked that the One UI 8.5 update is currently available for several other devices such as the Galaxy Z TriFold, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. However, it's important to highlight that these devices are getting the update only in South Korea right now, with the global rollout expected later. The Galaxy S23 families and the Fan Edition models from the company are also anticipated to receive the stable One UI 8.5 soon. The stable version comes with numerous AI-powered features that were introduced with the Galaxy S26 series, including Call Screening, Agentic AI, Creative Studio, ongoing AI image generation, a better Audio Eraser, and improved capabilities for Bixby. These AI tools were previously exclusive to the Galaxy S26 line. The One UI 8.5 update began rolling out in Korea last week. It first reached models such as the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, as well as the Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series.
